On scarce or expensive plots, a multi-storey building multiplies the usable floor area.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Fire safety and regulations<\/h3>\n<p>Warehouses are governed by the Spanish RSCIEI regulation, with compartmentation, fire resistance, sprinkler and evacuation requirements that depend on the fire load and storage height. Performance-based studies allow more efficient solutions than prescriptive application of the code.
