Parets del Vallès, March 4, 2025 — With a forward-thinking approach where design, excellence, and sustainability are the guiding principles, engineering firm Nadico has unveiled its new logistics building developed for Naus BCN. The project consists of a 3,110 m² logistics warehouse built on a 7,008 m² plot in Castellbisbal — a strategically located point in Spain, just 20 kilometers from the Port of Barcelona, 27 kilometers from El Prat Airport, and only 5 minutes from the AP7 and B23 highways.
From the outset, this building was designed with both the present and the future in mind, prioritizing environmental care and improvement. Recycled aggregates were used in the construction, and key sustainable features were incorporated, including 1,000 m² of green areas, biodiversity enhancements such as insect hotels and birdhouses, bicycle and pedestrian lanes, and charging points for electric vehicles. As Anna Marsal, Director of Sustainable Construction Certifications at Nadico, explains: “Thanks to the shared vision between Nadico and Naus BCN, we’ve achieved a building with an A certification and near-zero energy consumption.”
Jordi Codina, CEO of Nadico, adds: “We advised the client to pursue environmental certification and supported them through the process to obtain BREEAM® certification with a ‘Very Good’ rating.” The building, which includes three loading docks, a maneuvering yard, a cross-dock area, and a 291 m² mezzanine for office use, is the first of its size in Catalonia to receive this sustainable building certification, known for its independence and international standard.
Finally, Oriol Valsells, CEO of Naus BCN, reflects on working with Nadico: “We chose Nadico mainly for three reasons: first, their proximity; second, their multidisciplinary approach; and third, their expertise and specialization. Nadico is the perfect partner for a company like ours.”
