The Engineering and Architecture group promotes sport and inclusive sport, collaborates with those most in need, and is currently working towards obtaining the WELL BUILDING STANDARD certification —the first standard focused exclusively on the health and comfort of users— at its facilities in Barcelona.
Parets del Vallès, December 19, 2023.-With the Christmas and New Year holidays approaching, Nadico has taken stock of its solidarity and corporate social responsibility activities during 2023. The Engineering and Architecture group, which carries out projects for all types of sectors, from logistics to industrial and residential, has been developing these actions for many years, firmly positioning itself as a company deeply committed to society, promoting sport, the inclusion of those in need, the well-being of its employees, and sustainability.
A firm commitment to sport and inclusión
“Sport is a fundamental element of the education, healthcare, and quality of life systems,” says Jordi Codina, CEO of Nadico, who also chairs the Esport Club Granollers football club. For this reason, the company has consistently promoted sports practice at all levels, to integrate it naturally and routinely into all areas of society.
An example of this is that Nadico sponsors the ONAT SPORTS FOUNDATION, an organisation that works to make sport a tool for the social inclusion of marginalized groups and people with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, which it has sponsored since 2020. Likewise, Nadico is also a sponsor of Esport Club Granollers, which, with 120 years of history, is the most prominent football club in the Vallès Oriental region (Barcelona), where the company’s headquarters is located. In addition, for the FEDAC club in Lleida, which includes some federated athletes with Down syndrome, Nadico has designed a pavilion that is currently awaiting funding.
Another highly important aspect in this regard is the promotion of physical activity for employees. In fact, the company’s facilities in Parets include a gym and paddle courts available to its staff.
Solidarity among employees
The company, which has nearly 30 years of experience, frequently refers to Nadico’s DNA when speaking of the excellence and quality of its projects. However, solidarity and generosity among its employees are also part of this DNA. This year, staff took the initiative to collect new or like-new children’s sportswear, which they donated to Cáritas Diocesana of Parets. As Neus Riera, Technical Director of Nadico, states, “We want to help make this a better world. We’ve organized locally because we believe it is the most logical and meaningful way to have a global impact.”
Implementing the WELL Certification
Finally, it is worth noting that Nadico is implementing the WELL BUILDING STANDARD certification at its facilities in Barcelona. This is a dynamic rating system for buildings and communities that allows the identification, measurement, and monitoring of the built environment features that affect the health and well-being of occupants.
Furthermore, the Barcelona-based company is a BREEAM© advisor, assessing the sustainability of buildings.
“At Nadico, we are permanently committed to sustainability, sport, and well-being. If we think about it, all our projects ultimately aim to have a positive impact on people and society. This is also our commitment,” concludes Jordi Codina.
