NADICO refurbishes the Blanes Fish Market (Girona), transforming it into an energy-efficient building integrated into a new landscaped urban plan
Parets del Vallès, October 31st, 2023.-
The expertise and comprehensive solutions in architecture and engineering from Nadico have once again been showcased in the renovation of the Fish Market of Blanes, a project both designed and managed by the company, thanks to the trust placed in them by the public company Ports de la Generalitat.
Nadico’s intervention included solutions to severe issues such as corrosion, leaks, and roof accessibility; overseeing the restoration of the mixed metal and wood support structure, and the construction of a new treated aluminum composite facade. Notably, a significant thermal insulation improvement has been carried out, enhancing working conditions for both fishermen and buyers. Nadico also brought its expertise to the integration of 180 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof, aimed at improving the building’s energy efficiency.
According to Jordi Codina, CEO & President of Nadico, “This project has been a challenge for our team, who managed to find solutions to every issue that arose. We also worked in coordination to minimize disruption to the fishing activity. We are very grateful for the trust shown by our client, the public company Ports de la Generalitat, and for the collaboration of all the companies that partnered with us.”
This intervention by Nadico is one part of the broader redevelopment of this port area in Blanes, which includes major landscape planning to integrate the area into the urban fabric and surrounding green spaces, aiming to create a large social area.
