An industrial building is designed around the process: raw material and product flows, loads, clear heights, clean rooms, refrigeration, explosive atmospheres or chemical storage. That is why our engineering and architecture teams work together with the client and its process suppliers from the preliminary design. Frequently asked questions about industrial building projects

What does an industrial building need to obtain its activity licence?

An activity design that demonstrates compliance with fire safety (RSCIEI), environmental, noise and accessibility regulations, plus licensed installations. Activities involving chemicals add the APQ files and, where applicable, ATEX and SEVESO.

Do you design the building or the process as well?

We design the building and its installations around the process defined by the client or its process engineers, and we coordinate the interfaces (loads, utilities, evacuation, ATEX) so the plant works from day one.

Do you work on existing plants?

Yes: extensions, changes of activity, structural upgrades, replacement of asbestos roofing, installation licensing and energy improvements. We start with a technical inspection of the building.
